Big Event 2009
FSU SGA’s Big Event was held March 28th and over 115 students helped with a variety of clean up and beautification projects for KTLCB. |

Arbor Day 2009 A huge thanks to Dave Malcolm and his staff at Wood & Partners for making Arbor Day a school lesson for the School of Arts and Sciences. Paul Hurst hooked us up with Dan Farrar at City Parks and Rec and they came out in advance and dug the holes. Home Depot helped with the pine straw and dirt.  Tree donations came from: Greenways of America Tallahassee Nurseries Arbor Day Foundation Dave, Shawn Kalbli, and Charlie Johnson from W&P taught every bit of the way about how to plant a tree....how it faced, how level it was, the crown being clear, packing dirt, mulching, watering, etc. The students were a little muddy but very knowledgeable by the time it was over! They will be attending middle school there so these elementary school children will get to watch their trees grow bigger every year. |
